Starting from `emacs -Q` with a NextStep build (well, Cocoa actually)
run M-x shell RET and every half second the following message is printed
to the console:

Setting the environment variable NSAutoreleaseHaltOnNoPool=YES and
running under gdb I get the following backtrace:

That would be the blinking cursor.
I can't reproduce this on 10.7.  However, I have checked in a fix.  Can you test it?
