face_for_font is called at xdisp.c:6972, leading to an unlinkable Emacs when configured for terminal only:

Should be fixed in trunk revision 114482.

Btw, this bug seems to have been there for the past 2.5 years, with
nobody noticing it.  Can hydra be taught to build also --without-x?
