Do you mean you see unsorted commands while typing `M-x M-n M-n ...'?

Do you mean you see unsorted commands while typing `M-x M-n M-n ...'?
I meant that I never ran those commands, so they shouldn't show up in
the minibuffer history, yet they do.

They don't show up in the minibuffer history when you type
`M-x M-p M-p ...'.

M-x M-n M-n ... shows random entries that were never called by the

mini-buffer history is supposed to be empty. That is a bug, or
undocumented feature.
Sorry if I was unclear.

I agree that pushing completions to M-n of M-x is confusing.
I don't find this feature useful.

Then set minibuffer-default-add-function to nil.

I think `minibuffer-default-add-completions' as the value of
`minibuffer-default-add-function' is useful for a list of buffers
for buffer-reading commands because there are ordered by recency.
For most other commands, completions are unordered, so perhaps we should
set `minibuffer-default-add-function' to `minibuffer-default-add-completions'
only for buffer-reading commands.

Yes, I agree. But I'm not sure if this should be done for the next release,
because currently there is feature freeze. Or this counts as a bug?

Can we set this as the default? The current behaviour is not
