Summary: Suggesting that xpm format images used in emacs be replaced =20
by png.

Detail:

In emacs, it seems the default image format is xpm.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X_PixMap

For example, the emacs logo, widget graphics, all seems to be xpm =20
format at dir =E2=80=9Cetc/images/=E2=80=9D.

The xpm image format is some 19 years old tech based on ascii text, =20
very bulky. png or svg are perhaps good candidates.
