Message #5 received at submit <at> debbugs.gnu.org (full text, mbox):
shell-script-mode has the following highlighting (coloring) bugs
in the bash and zsh minor modes:
* In "if [[ ... ]] then", the "then" keyword is not highlighted for
bash and zsh.
* In "[[ x == x ]]", the first x is incorrectly highlighted for zsh.

This is a syntax error.
Andreas.

Ah, OK, so it is not a bug in bash. But it is valid in zsh.
So, the bug would just concern the zsh minor mode.

It is valid in ksh too, so that the pdksh mode is also concerned.

Message #17 received at 11264 <at> debbugs.gnu.org (full text, mbox):
This bug still occurs.
Concerning the incorrect highlighting of the first x, it seems that
something that precedes a = character, possibly with spaces between
will be highlighted. There is no reason for that. This is not an
assignment.
Examples:
true a = b
a = b
where "a" is highlighted (in the second case, this is the command "a"
with the arguments "=" and "b", still not an assignment).
