Severity: important
The Development section of https://www.gnu.org/software/diffutils/ contains:
For development sources, bug and patch trackers, and other
information, please see the Diffutils project page at
savannah.gnu.org.
The implication that Savannah has diffutils trackers is wrong.
diffutils has a debbugs issue tracker:

Thanks Paul but are you sure and if so, do you see evidence to that
effect? The commit Jim mentioned solves (a) related issue(s) but not the
one reported here.

The evidence I see is Jim's patch. If it doesn't suffice, please propose
a specific wording change against the current version (preferably in
'git format-patch' format), as it's not clear from your emails what
issue you think is still not fixed.

The issue which appears to remain unfixed is the one reported in this
ticket (see message #5).

Since you insist, I presume you feel it is not.
That is why I am requesting clarification.

I am sorry but while that patch does reduce this issue's impact, it does
not *solve* the actual bug at all.

We seem to have reached an impasse.
I request more information, and still you provide nothing new.
Until you explain clearly what you feel is the bug, there is nothing
else to discuss here, so I have closed it yet again.

This ticket is not a discussion forum, it is tracking a necessary change
in the problematic page. If you have nothing to discuss, just leave the
ticket alone until someone with the necessary privileges and skill fixes
the problem. As long as progress is reported, I will take care of
updating this ticket's status when relevant, as I indicated yesterday.
This bug has already been explained as clearly as it can.

No it hasn't. At this point I don't know what the current complaint is actually
about, and I've read all the messages in this thread. You've been asked for the
wording change you'd like to see, as a patch against the current version, but so
far have not supplied a specific proposal. Even if you feel that the bug has
been sufficiently explained, clearly the message has not gotten through, and it
will continue to not come through until you come up with a specific proposal.
Don't worry if your proposal repeats something you've said earlier, as this
thread is now so long and confusing that finding what you've said earlier is now
an error-prone process.
In short, you need to send in a specific proposal now, or nothing will come of
this thread.
