Most of these
C-c C-s C-a	gnus-summary-sort-by-author
C-c C-s C-c	gnus-summary-sort-by-chars
C-c C-s C-d	gnus-summary-sort-by-date...
should change the modeline, so we remember what order we picked,
just like dired does.

Hm...  There are so many things you can do with limiting/sorting in the
summary buffer that I don't think this would be very useful.  "Sorted by
date, then chars, then author, and then limited to people who have names
that start with "D""...  You'd have an entire essay in the mode line.

So...  I don't think it's a good idea.
