[Message part 1 (text/plain, inline)]
I have recently encountered this bug with Emacs 29.0.50 (07-19) snapshot on
Windows. This error pops up whenever I am trying to install packages with
package.el (any package).

Any help would be appreciated!

Do you have a recipe to reproduce this, preferably starting from "emacs -Q"?

Could you `M-x toggle-debug-on-error', try again and post the resulting
backtrace?

Sorry, I'm not very familiar with the mailing list. Does that work now? (I
have clicked reply all button)

That's about right. So I guess most of it is okay.

Let's see what Corwin finds.

Not to rush anyone. Just want to know if there are any updates to this

Not yet. Corwin didn't respond yet. I guess it's a summer thing...

This was a month ago -- is this still a problem in the snapshots?

Yes, it's still an issue. The snapshot hasn't been updated, the latest one
is still 2022-07-18 22:33.

Right. Corwin, do you have any plans for updating the snapshot?

Yes, I will release a new snapshot once I understand (and resolve) the
problem with them.
I'm afraid I didn't look at this thread until now - for various
personal reasons I haven't been watching emails closely. (I have
around 8.3k unread emails, at present.)

Other than noticing and responding to an email thread like this, is
there a way I can check for bugs awaiting my attention? I can think
assignment (to me) via the bug tracker and/or applying a tag such as
"win32-build" or something like that, but I'm open to whatever
suggestions that might be more reliable than "don't miss any emails
where you are in TO or CC".

And reading the thread on emacs-devel, it seems like the problem is not
gone in the new snapshop package, so I'm closing this bug report.

*gulp* 🫠

We could do user tags, but then people have to remember to do that
tagging, and experience shows that that's not really going to happen
consistently.

But setting up a mail filter to redirect messages CC's to
@debbugs.gnu.org to a special mail folder should probably be easy enough
(looks like you're using Gmail)?

I agree, closing is TRT here.

I created a new snapshot build yesterday and it does not appear to
have this issue; I'll do some more testing before I upload but, in all
probably a new snapshot from master should be available from the alpha
FTP site within around 12 hours. (git rev-parse HEAD =>
15f42f193ba85489ee2a1e4406dae7944eee97b8)

I managed to do that and yes, it does seem to be helping. (You are
correct: I have gmail "gather" from my various email accounts and most
often reply using the Gmail web UX.)

Thank you, Lars.
