GUI emacs started from a tty, started to print warnings like shown
below.  This must have been introduced recently,
1231a601ebe1fd9fe454c504dbeb9267440242e7 doesn't print these warnings.

A quick glance at the log of changes since then doesn't yield any
immediate suspects.

What does "invalid display identifier" mean?

Is there any way of figuring out which code in Emacs triggers these
messages?  If not, I think bisection is the best way to go.

No idea.

With 568920a5b703e80c43e1b6f31778ea5776218a1e, I cannot reproduce it.

It's not reproducible on 14.0 Sonoma, so I'm closing this.
