It returns t, of course, what else? Otherwise, treesit-language-available-p could not return t, could it? Note that this is a Windows build, so maybe the fact that we load tree-sitter dynamically at run time when it is first needed has something to do with the problem.

Then click "State" and select "SET for current session only". Next visit a C file, say, src/xdisp.c. Type M-: major-mode RET and observe that the mode is c-mode, not the expected c-ts-mode. And the value of major-mode-remap-alist is nil, contrary to what the manual and NEWS say: Customizing this option adds the corresponding mappings to ‘major-mode-remap-alist’ such as remapping from ‘c-mode’ to ‘c-ts-mode’ (if you enable the latter). If I manually customize major-mode-remap-alist to include the necessary remappings for c-mode, then visiting a C file does automatically turn on c-ts-mode, as expected. And this: M-: (treesit-language-available-p 'c) RET returns t in "emacs -Q", so there's no problem with the Tree-sitter library and the grammar library for C/C++ on this system. What am I doing wrong? Btw, if I select "Enable specific tree-sitter modes" from the Value Menu, then I expect to see some kind of widget that will allow me to select one or more modes. But in fact what I see is just "Enable specific tree-sitter modes:" and nothing else, not even an empty text field to type the modes I want to enable. Am I missing something?
