Message #5 received at submit <at> debbugs.gnu.org (full text, mbox):
With Emacs 30.2 and Gnus Agent enabled and plugged in, when
for example I look at the group
gmane.linux.debian.devel.exim4.devel (news.gmane.io), there
are a number of spam messages, relevant here for their HTML
content with images:
| [ 72: Jonas ] Direkt ab Deutschland, Zoll inklusive – Direct dispatch from Germany, duty included
| [ 41: Naledi Vusimuzi ] Re: Lening
| [1661: Auctibid ] ⏰ Tijd om voor jezelf te zorgen. 💚
| [ 527: Landelijke Energie Serv] Zorg dat u niet teveel betaalt voor uw energiefactuur
| [ 18: Chris Hofstädtler ] Bug#1119165: exim4: Depends on db5.3
| [ 14: Debian Bug Tracking Sys] Processed: exim4: Depends on db5.3
| [ 128: Marc MERLIN ] Re: exim4 untainting and mailman: local_parts = dsearch + local_part_data

| [ 30: Carrie Kang ] Rubber mats
Now, when I select the first article and then rapidly press
N five times to select the article "Processed: exim4:
Depends on db5.3" (which is plain text only), the header and
body of that article is displayed in the *Article* buffer,
and then images from both the articles "⏰ Tijd om voor
jezelf te zorgen. 💚" and "Zorg dat u niet teveel betaalt
voor uw energiefactuur" are inserted at the beginning of the
buffer (i. e., before the header).
After the images have been loaded (cached?), moving through
the articles will just display the article, with no extra
images added.
It appears as if Gnus is loading the images asynchronously,
but does not check whether the article that triggered the
download is still selected when the images have been
downloaded.
